Venue hire at Newark Castle

Discover Newark’s most iconic heritage venues

Newark Castle is currently closed for the Gatehouse Project. When it reopens, we will be offering beautiful historic spaces, colourful landscaped gardens and new rooms for hosting your special event. We are now taking bookings for wedding and event hire from spring 2027.

To express an interest and find out more, email newark.castle@newark-sherwooddc.gov.uk.

While Newark Castle undergoes its exciting transformation, we invite you to explore two of Newark’s most iconic heritage venues, each offering a unique setting for your next unforgettable event.

The National Civil War Centre

The National Civil War Centre is home to the breathtaking Tudor Hall, a space steeped in history and character. With its timber-framed architecture and atmospheric charm, it’s an ideal backdrop for a range of events, including weddings, christenings, and bespoke corporate gatherings.

Palace Theatre Newark

For larger events, the Palace Theatre Newark offers a high-capacity venue with grandeur and versatility. From weddings and award ceremonies to conferences and performances, the theatre’s elegant auditorium and stylish function rooms - including the Byron Room - can be tailored to suit your vision.
